LUCIA DE A. MELIM

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Lucia has lived and studied in Moscow, New York, Paris and Hong Kong. She holds a BA in Translation and Conference Interpreting from the Rio de Janeiro Catholic University, PUC-RJ, with specialization courses in Philology at the State Moscow University and the University of Dijon in France.

She is a translator and a conference interpreter working at in presence and remote meetings, both in Brazil and globally. Her language combination is Brazilian Portuguese <> English and English/French/Spanish > Brazilian Portuguese.

Lucia is a member of the Association Internationale des Intérprètes de Conférence (AIIC) based in Geneva since 2000 and of the National Union of Conference Interpreter & Translators (SINTRA) in Rio de Janeiro. Founder and Consultant Interpreter at Central dos Intérpretes, she currently shares her time between Rio de Janeiro and Washington, DC.

Central de Intérpretes was founded in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and specializes in translation and conference interpretation services for 30 years. Its client portfolio includes government and non-government organizations, companies, multinationals and different institutions in Brazil and abroad. We provide on site or remote services for all kinds of events – visits, meetings and conferences, interviews, trade fairs, training programs and international congresses.
